Give yourself around 30 min. to work on 125 PreTest(pdf file). Then check your work with 125 PreTest Answer(pdf file).

You MUST complete and grade the 125PreTest and bring it to the orientation.

Without this you will be excluded from the class. No exception!!!

If you don't come to the orientation, then you will be excluded from the class. No exception!!!


SLOs:

Given a quadratic equation in the form of, y=a(x-h)^2 + k , students will:

a. State whether the parabola opens upwards or downwards

b. Find the coordinates of the vertex

c. Write the axis of symmetry

d. Find the x-intercept(s)

e. Find the y-intercept(s)

f. Graph and label the points

Note that, this is the same book used for math 115/125 during summer and spring. Some of you already have this book from math 115 class. ELAC book store does NOT carry this book. During our orientation, a student can purchase the book for around $5 to $10.


Online HW & Online Test: You need to have a valid CousseCompass (MyMathLab) Student AccessCode. If you took math 115 last semester, then your coursecompass AccessCode might be valid. To check this, you need to login to coursecompass.

How to Take the on-line homework assignment?

    * Before you take the homework assignment, you must first register with COURSECOMPASS.

         1. Before you go on-line to register, please make sure that you have the following items:
                o Valid email address
                o Course ID for this course: It is "yun47818".
                o CousseCompass (MyMathLab) Student AccessCode (This comes with your textbook.)
         2. Go to http://coursecompass.com/
         3. Bookmark this site for easy access. (Add this to your favorite.)
         4. Click Register under Students.
         5. Enter your AccessCode, Course ID is yun47818, Zip Code for ELAC is 91754.
         6. Enter your contact info. Make sure that your email address is VALID!!
         7. Enter 91754 for the zip code. Enter your academic institution (East Los Angeles College).
         8. Enter your login name and password. Please do not loose them since I can not retrieve them.
         9. Print the Confirmation & Summary page for future reference.
        10. Now you are ready to "login to Course Compass".

If you don't register to "Course Compass" by Setp.12th, then you will be excluded from the class. No exception!!!!
